What is honour
The principles of honour is what every believer must have in his sleeves all the time. That which is valued and esteemed is honour.
The supreme level of honor is reserved for God alone; that’s a principle of honour that is worthy of note Deut. 32:51
Introduction
A believer grows immensely when he puts the concept of the principle of honour into practice in his relationship with God. Among the main principles governing the earth is the principle of honour.
Honouring someone or something means giving it great worth it
Since honour originates in the heart, it is through this seed that Christ begins to manifest himself through us.
So to reap the immense benefits of honour and flourish tremendously, it is important to have a revelation of who/what you ought to honour, that’s the easiest way to apply the principle of honour.
#My ability to honour men is tied to my ability to have a revelation of my honour of God#
Honour comes from the place of submission
In the article below, we will be talking about the 5 Principles of Honour and how to appropriate them.
5 Principles Of Honour
1)Honour Is A Command
1 Peter 2:17, whether we had fantastic parents or not so fantastic ones, we are told to honor them (Exodus 20:12). A command is meant to be followed through irrespective of how we feel,
and sometimes the instructions of the command are not pleasing to our flesh at all who wants to rebel all the time. If honour is a command, then we follow through like soldiers on a battlefield receiving instructions from their chief commander.
# A man you don’t truly honour, you can’t truly benefit from#
2) Honour Is On The Basis of Revelation
Revelation must be done on the basis of revelation not outside of revelation or as a ritual or normal routine.
So once a believer does it out of routine or outside revelation he loses the benefits attached to honour.
Meaning that it must stem from a revelation that has been calcified
in our hearts as believers not a lip service action.
Matthew 15:8-9 “These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me”
Furthermore, it is clear from the above scripture that God abhors a man
whose honour is only on his lips with a heart that is far.
That man truly cannot be trusted, as far as God is concerned
because true honour aligns the words on the lips with what is in the heart.
So a clear understanding that honour stems from the basis of revelation
and not rituals is paramount if the believer would benefit from the dividends of honour.
# The seed to access is honour and the seed to keep the access is much honor#
3) Honour Is A Shield Of Preservation
Countless times tales and stories abound of men who were preserved both spiritually and physically as a result of honour. In that instance we saw honour act as a shield of preservation.
Exodus.20.12 “Honour thy father and thy mother:
that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee”
It seems as if longevity and preservation is tied to one honouring his father and mother whether in the Lord or in the natural.
4) Honour Comes Through The Sincerity Of The Heart
Any presumed honour not from the sincerity of the heart
will not grant us access to God’s reality,
because honour brings us to a place of favour with God and with men.
Also, when we as believers trivialize the grace that God has made available to us in His Body then we will be cut off from the economy that the grace supplies.
Conclusion
Lastly, that’s why the scripture says in 1 Cor.11.30 “For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep” because they didn’t discern the Lord’s Body, that in His Body,
God made provision for anything the believer needs and one of the ways to benefit is to understand the principle of honour.
