3 BARRIERS IN ACCESSING REVELATIONS FROM THE SCRIPTURES

Barriers in accessing revelations from the scripture has always and will always be a topic every believer must be aware of especially if that believer wants to have a fruitful engagement in his walk with God. 

The goal of studying the scriptures is not for you to puff up yourselves with head knowledge.

Rather, it is that you are transformed, such that as you study the scriptures, there’s interaction with Christ and you’re being transformed into the same image (2 Cor  3:18).

Futhermore, In understanding the barriers in accessing revelations from the scriptures, you would be able to know what the barriers are, and what to prevent against when studying the scriptures. 

BARRIERS IN ACCESING REVELATIONS FROM THE SCRIPTURES EXPLAINED 

Barriers in accessing revelations from the scriptures are hindrances that stands as a roadblock in getting insights and revelations when one engage in the study of God’s word. 

As a believer, you have unlimited access to insights and revelations because the Spirit of God dwells in you. He teaches you all things and ministers the truth of God’s word to you.

2 Timothy  3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

You cannot benefit much from the scriptures if there are hindrances that limits you from accessing revelations from the scriptures.

In this article, we will be looking at three major barriers that can hinder you from accessing revelations from the scripture. 

1. Lack of Honour and Reverence For The Scriptures

The word of God is holy and it should be regarded as such.

However, Lack of honour and reverence for the scripture can cause the scripture to be locked.

Moreover, the Lack of honour and reverence from scriptures first stems from the heart, and can be seen physically too by the way you approach scriptures. 

Finally, dependence on self, eating while studying, engaging in distractive activities while studying, are some of the ways we show lack of honour and reverence for the scriptures. 

2. Pride

There’s a heart of humility it takes to access revelations in the scriptures. An acknowledgement that it’s only by the spirit of God that we have access into God’s word.

However, Pride can manifest in different forms.

For instance, it can be dependence on self, becoming overfamiliar with scriptures, approaching the scriptures with a closed heart,

not being opened to the chastisements and corrections that the scripture brings. 

James  4:6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

In addition, A proud man has nothing to profit from the scripture, it takes humility to draw from God’s word. 

3. A Noisy Heart

Psalms  46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

A noisy heart is a heart full of distractions, cares of the world, worries etc. You cannot access revelations from scriptures when you approach it with a noisy heart. 

In other words, you need to lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word.

This word is that which is able to save your soul.

Moreover, God can’t speak to you through His word, neither can you hear Him if your heart is noisy. 

Finally, Submit your heart to God in prayers before you start studying the scriptures.

CONCLUSION 

When you are able to identify some of the barriers that hinders you from accessing revelations from the scripture,

it will help you position yourself rightly when approaching the scriptures.

Conclusively, having distracted thoughts and mind, lack of reverence for the scripture and pride, can cause you to lose out on vital revelations from the scriptures.

Resulting in lack of ministration of life , and inability to cause transformation within you.
