The little ones as the term goes are really the “small ones”.
You might be asking, what does this mean, hold on let’s go scriptural.
1Sam.15.17 “And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not
made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?”
1 Samuel 15:19 “Wherefore then didst thou not “obey” the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? ’’
This was the Lord clearly stating His displeasure for what was happening in 1 Sam 15.
It became very obvious and sad that King Saul’s heart disposition of himself betrayed him.
Have you ever done something and when an authority came back, he asked you?
Who asked you to do this? You are looking morosely
And you are like in your mind I wanted to help you out.
And the authorities were seriously displeased that you were punished.
And you are in one corner feeling I did this oo out of the benevolence of my heart 🤣
That’s the same with Saul, don’t look too far😔
But that’s not the point, the point is “obedience” not benevolence
God needs to help us to know what He wants us to do each time, really He needs to.
The Little Ones
The little ones is not a cliche, it’s a heart disposition.
God specifically told him to clear the Amalekites; all not some including animals.
And the funniest thing is that he went to do what God said, but saw some things and felt like God needed them.
He forgot that even God saw those things too,
It’s just like maybe when God says I should pray or maybe don’t do something.
I didn’t pray and somehow did what I was told not to do.
Then I quickly go on a dry fast which is a kind of sacrifice per say😔.
Be rest assured that God forgives, but every action has its consequences, it’s been woven to be like that.
That’s how God maintains justice and balance.
The realm of the spirit is not sentimental, it is very legalistic.
If complete obedience is what keeps your crown on your head, stay there.
If humility or meekness is what keeps yours, stay there.
If integrity and focus is what keeps yours, stay there ooo.
If purity and consecration is what keeps yours, kwechiri ooo.
If hunger and burdens is what keeps yours, die there ooo.
A little moment outside is enough to not just take your crown but put it on another.
Because above all else that particular thing was what made God anoint us over all else initially.
For example in the case of Samson it was his hair, which indicates his covering.
So as long as he had his covering he was not just safe but was still useful in God’s agenda.
True, Samson’s hair grew back, but even him and his destiny never recovered from it.
This would show us the utmost need for God to perpetually help and show us mercy.
The Little Ones
Jas.4.6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble”.
Brethren if God resists us, it’s over. Like it literally means God will fight you 😭.
Many times, we find ourselves in the midst of so much applause and honour and celebrations from people.
But the right heart attitude would matter most in those moments.
Cause every single step to that earned height was a step with the holy ghost.
His hands were holding so close, never giving up on us.
With every assurance to stay through with us until the end.
The kudos must go back to Him; for He was that one that brought such lifting.
And we were only nothing except that His mercies came through for us.
Many times we overestimate ourselves not according to God the whole glory that He entirely deserves.
That’s what makes the little ones go far.
They perpetually know where God picked them from, how He is fixing back every part of their lives.
They never lose sight of that, because they know when they do, it will affect their heart and their actions as well.
There will be no stumbling block in their path.
They lack the capacity to carry unnecessary weight that is able to cause a stampede in their journey.
Because they are little, not many things matter. Hence, they are less distracted and highly focused.
Such are ones that will finish well and finish strong.
The Right Heart and Attitude
When we talk about The Little Ones, we talk about a heart posture and attitude.
It will never be suffixed with any other thing.
In the case of Saul and David the heart posture was what made the difference.
David made a lot of mistakes if possible more than Saul did but the heart was what really mattered to God.
If God can truly have a man’s heart, it’s only a matter of time his actions will align.
Consequently, our heart has to be right first otherwise what we do will be seeming off to God.
So we labour to take such mould irrespective of our positions or placements; up or down.
Let us take a glen at Jesus.
Phil.2.6 “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God”
Each time I come to this scripture, am like God abeg oo you must help me😭
I mean that’s who Jesus is; God and it’s not robbery yet He took another form.
I believe this is the highest form of lowliness ever.
This humility and meekness is not feigned, if you feign this you will falter many times when it matters the most.
It is the cross that worked it in Jesus; it is also the cross that will work it in us.
Behove me to say that, even while He became a man, He didn’t claim special privileges.
It was the worst kind of death ever; crucifixion.
Just understand that the natural man is naturally baptised with a measure of pride😔.
Even though the manifestation of pride differs.
Everyone has it in them, we can’t help it that’s why the cross comes to reduce us
To the real realities of Christ.
Conclusion
True growth is a growth of more of God in us and less of ourselves.
Where God and His ways matter more to us; as we humbly begin to pattern our lives like Christ.
For in the long run,
God will be found by such seekers, for they have sought Him with all their
heart.
That’s why we never stop praying because there is hope for the man praying than the man who is not!!
