Living a Christ-centered life; In a world filled with moral confusion, shifting values, and increasing spiritual darkness,
The call to walk in the light of Christ has become more urgent and a timely matter.
That’s why, Jesus speaking in John 8:12 says
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”
As believers whether we know or not, we are constantly pulled into many directions.
Distractions even legitimate ones abound seeming to drown the blaring of the alarm of the Spirit in our hearts.
And like blind Bartimeus we keep crying Jesus thou son of David have mercy on us.
Peradventure, he would look upon our sincere cry and restructure our taste buds.
Christ is meant to be lived!!
The Call to Walk in the Light

1 John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
The call to walk in light, is the call to become, the call to sonship.
Consequently, If we keep walking our journey will be ended in the true image who is Christ.
That’s why, it is a call to live differently from the world—to stand as a beacon of hope, love, and grace.
The world today is filled with many forms of darkness:
Moral Decay – A culture that promotes sin and calls evil good (Isaiah 5:20).
Spiritual Deception – False doctrines and misleading philosophies (Colossians 2:8).
Fear and Anxiety – Uncertainty about the future, financial struggles, and personal crises (Philippians 4:6-7).
Temptations and Sin – The constant battle against the flesh and worldly desires (Galatians 5:16-17).
Yet, as believers, we are not defenseless why because Jesus assured us,
In John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
The Rewards of Living a Christ-Centered Life
The true believer is never bereft of rewards, whether in this life or hereafter.
If Christ is our center, then our center will always hold.
It’s a true consolation and the confidence the believer has to keep pressing
Because we are not just aware we are convinced beyond reasonable doubt in God’s reward system.
That’s why the scripture speaking in 1 Corinthians 15:19 “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
That’s our assurance, that our hope is not in this life only, therefore we cannot be miserable.
Because we know some of the blessings we receive when Christ is our center.
Peace Beyond Understanding – Even in storms, we find peace in Christ (Philippians 4:7).
Peace in this context of the scriptures doesn’t necessarily mean absence of challenges or troubles.
If it is a peace ministered by the Spirit, just like the scripture says,
We will walk in the valley of shadow of death and few no evil, unfazed and strengthened.
The Rewards of Living a Christ-Centered Life

Divine Protection – God shields those who walk in His ways (Psalm 91:1-2).
We are assured of preservation and being kept.
That our foot won’t slip and God’s sure mercies abundant in our lives.
Spiritual Clarity and Wisdom – The Holy Spirit illuminates our path (James 1:5).
There is nothing very frustrating as sincerely labouring in the wrong direction.
And most times God knows and He will just leave us until the day we genuinely go back to Him
And say, alas my Father!! I left without securing the your mind.
That’s why the Scripture speaking in Isaiah 30:21 says “and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying,
This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
Joy in the Lord – Our joy is not dependent on circumstances but on Christ (Nehemiah 8:10).
This is God’s promise to the believer and we believe it.
Encouragement for the Journey
Do not grow weary – “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
God’s grace is sufficient – “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Victory is assured – “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Conclusion: A Call to Commitment
For the, the call to live a Christ Centered life is not optional for believers;
it is the essence of our faith. In a world desperate for hope,
we are called to be carriers of His light, reflecting His glory in every sphere of life.
May the Lord strengthen us as we continue our journey in Him. Amen.
