Walking in God’s purpose; There has never and will never be a time when God does things without a purpose.
It is in His purpose that we find purpose, that’s we can’t be in pursuit of purpose
Without first interfacing with God who is purpose defined.
That’s why, every believer desires a life of purpose, one that aligns with God’s divine plan.
But in a world filled with distractions, uncertainties, and personal ambitions,
We find it difficult sometimes to discern God’s will.
Yet, Scripture reassures us that God has a plan for every life.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Understanding God’s Purpose; Walking in God’s Purpose

Walking in God’s purpose is to live a life of faith, obedience, and trust.
And most times, it requires surrendering our desires to God’s will and allowing Him to lead us.
I mean, we come to the point like Paul said when we no longer lead ourselves.
But the HolyGhost takes us by the locks of our hair just like He did Ezekiel as we navigate through time.
Trusting that our lives will bring Him glory both now and when the roll is called up yonder.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Discovering Your Purpose Through Christ
Many times as believers we are bombarded with the questions “have you found purpose”
I have been too, in fact I quickly went ahead to buy books on purpose discovery
Only to end up more confused and far from the semblance of God’s purpose
And then I heard, your purpose is in line with what you like and was like wow!
I love movies, could it be my purpose 🤣, I’ve come to realise that no man can understand purpose
Or even walk in it without knowing Jesus, outside of a relationship with Him, the purpose you found is without purpose.
That’s why, many people seek purpose in careers, relationships, or personal achievements.
While these things have value, true purpose is found in a relationship with Christ.
Colossians 3:17 “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
No true purpose can be first found on the pages of a book without prayer.
Let’s drop the books first, we are getting more confused…find God.
When Moses found God it was clear that he was the deliverer no book told him that.
Are the books wrong no, the writings bad no, but pray first it is there that you find who you really are.
Consequently, our purpose is not just about what we do but who we are in Christ.
And as we grow in our faith, we gain clarity on God’s specific plan for our lives.
Walking by Faith, Not by Sight
Faith is the foundation of walking in God’s purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
The word “walking” is an action word that is, a present continuous tense.
Therefore, it is something we do everyday irrespective of how it feels.
Sometimes we don’t even feel like, everywhere looks bleak and we look up to the heavens and there is no sign of the finger of God in the clouds.
There are tines we find ourselves in the same scenario that played out with Peter on the sea.
We took the first two bold steps and then fear came and we began sinking.
Abraham is a great example. In Genesis 12:1-4, God called him to leave his homeland and go to an unfamiliar place.
Walking by Faith

Likewise, God calls us to trust Him even when we don’t have all the answers and even when we think we have all the answers.
Because our fear and doubt can hinder us from fulfilling God’s purpose.
Sometimes, stepping out is the initial reaction required from us.
Yes, I know that we might question the unknown or probably what might happen if we do step out.
But I think it is better we step out than we die never doing what was prompted by the “Spirit” in our spirit.
Just maybe, it might be the answer we’ve been looking for, it’s been in plain sight but we never saw😭😭
Finally, the scriptures in 2 Timothy 1:7 days “For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Yes, it’s a choice, so we choose to trust God irrespective of how we feel.
For faith is not emotional.
Serving Others and Bearing Fruit
Walking in purpose cannot fully be done without serving.
Fulfilling God’s purpose involves serving others.
Jesus said in Matthew 20:28 “even as the Son of man came not to be ministered
unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
God has given each believer unique gifts and talents to build His kingdom.
There is really no hope of being served if we are not involved in active service.
I used to think that service is about activities but I’ve realised that we can be full of activities but we never served.
There is a heart it takes to serve, this is what will decide if the one who “served”
Will leave with a curse or a blessing, Elisha left with a double portion but Gahazi left with a curse.
Consequently, a life aligned with God’s purpose will bear fruits.
Enduring Trials with Perseverance
Walking in God’s purpose does not mean a life free from challenges.
Sometimes, the salvation message that was preached is the one that tells the unregenerate.
That once you give your life to Christ, Jesus whisks a magical wand and all your troubles goes away.
And so people come to God not because they were convincted but because they needed a way out of their troubles.
However, the walk of purpose, the path of the just is not a road strawn with rose petals.
There are trials, challenges and things we will encounter on this path that will strengthen our faith and refine our character.
James 1:3 “knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”
Our focus should be to remain faithful to God’s calling until the end.
Conclusion

Walking in God’s purpose is a journey of faith, surrender, and obedience.
It requires daily seeking, trusting in His timing, and serving others with love.
Proverbs 19:21 “There are many devices in a man’s heart; Nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”
Our greatest fulfillment comes from aligning with God’s divine will.
May we continually seek Him, trust His plan, and walk boldly in the purpose He has set before us.
