Spiritual knowledge is one compelling subject of discourse and experience in the kingdom.
The context is “the kingdom” because there is alot of knowledge out there.
As long as it is outside the context of the kingdom it is not consumable no matter how high sounding it is.
The kingdom remains the bandwidth of knowledge for “the believer”
In fact not all knowledge in the kingdom is allowed to be consumed.
That’s why God speaking to Adam and Even in Genesis chapter 2:16 said
“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die”
Somehow, even though the tree was in the garden of Eden God straitly instructed them not to eat it.
The same applies for us, even though in the kingdom delving through the waters of “that” knowledge;
Will bring death, error, misstep and misfiring no matter how true our intentions were.
Stop where the Spirit stopped, not a step further no matter how harmless it looks.
Our journeying outside of its boundaries; is similar to an encounter with death and emptiness.
Therefore, such will be without much essence, life and Christ as the building material or substance.
There are spiritual knowledge God wants us gain mastery of so that we will be thoroughly furnished.
2Pet.1.9”But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.”
Spiritual Progress
In the part of spiritual knowledge even some unbelievers are not spiritually bereft.
The only difference is that Christ is not the substance and raw material of their knowledge.
Hence, it perverts, misleads and destroys even when it seemingly has a good facade.
2Cor.4.4 “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
However, even believers can suffer from blindness, lacking in spiritual knowledge.
Especially when we tilt towards religiosity;lacking in experience of what it means to walk with God;
Irrespective of how much knowledge they might have garnered in the scriptures.
Because they were only letters and did not produce life; and because there is no life.
There is a deficit of sight too and spiritual knowledge for our walk with God is very organic.
2Tim.3.5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
As believers, we don’t take the mode or attitude of neutrality; no one sits on the fence in the kingdom
If we try to, we will soon fall short; it is only a matter of time.
We must sincerely desire to see the things in the scriptures bear fruits in us.
Yes, it takes time sometimes but are we willing, hungry and determined?
Can we count the cost?, if not we build castles in the air.
That’s why many times, when we seek God so passionately;
He does something very distinct.
Spiritual Knowledge; Spiritual Progress
He begins to take us through a peculiar path, through deeper teachings and formations.
These education do not only come by knowledge and revelation;
He deals with us, in us and through us.
I’ve come to realise that it is only these dealings that will bring the desired furnishings God wants.
Is it all palatable and smooth sailing? No, God never leave us without hope or succor.
For the hope that Christ hopes in us we despise the shame, so He will gain.
This person will abound in spiritual knowledge.
Truly knowing and encountering the Lord.
Heb.12.6 “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”
That’s why when people like that speak, much life exudes, they know beyond a reasonable doubt;
the marks they’ve borne on their body so as to minister life.
Such persons are able to touch the spirits of others who are suffering similar issues, because they have been through such experiences.
They are able to make great impact and cause a deep transformational work in the life of others.
That’s why, we ought to come up hither.
No longer lying back to the common life deficient routines of going to church and other religious activities.
Of course, we do not dispute the fact that these things are very good and will always help the one who is truly seeking God.
Spiritual Knowledge; Spiritual Progress
But the scripture’s standard will remain defiant to every single tendency to want to dilute the reality and genuinity of what we have received.
Infact, what have we received?
The answer is Christ;
In His simplicity and His fullness.
1Pet.1.12 “Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things,
which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel
unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.”
What we have received is transcendent and excels.
Such eternal things too glorious to look upon.
Hence we need to give heed to them.
Heb.2.1 “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things
which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”
Accurate spiritual knowledge is no doubt very important; for God is too vast.
How do we lay hold, if we don’t atleast know?
Spiritual Knowledge; The Cross
Accurate spiritual knowledge is not in limbo, neither is it for us to boast of what we know of
The word or knowledge will try us, oh it will!!
Psalm 105:19 “Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD tested him.”
It seems as if we grow more and more in spiritual knowledge when we yield more and more to the experiences of the cross.
Heb.2.10 “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things,
in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
Like my Father Apostle Edu would say, sufferings “furnished by the cross”, not our disobedience or carelessness.
In fact, I’ve even realised that after we suffer for our carelessness, we still have a measure of suffering;
Alloted to us from the cross.
If Jesus was made perfect by suffering; even so we will also be.
If the servant wants to be like His master, that’s how!
Because there are certain educations and knowledge of the spirit that we will never come into if God does not deal it in us.
There is something about the soul that is defiant even for the renewed man
And so God conquers that through the cross, sometimes circumstances are weaved.
So that when we have gone through such experiences, we will become witnesses of life.
When we speak about what the Lord has dealt us with, the life of God that oozes is much.
And our hearers will be really helped.
Many times, our spirit does not touch the words we preach yet because we have not been dealt with by the word.
Even our hearers will not touch any life from our words.
The result will be death and emptiness, the cross furnishes life!
Conclusion
Accurate spiritual knowledge is no doubt a necessary necessity.
2 Tim.3:17 “ That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
Our earnest desire is not to just talk like Jesus but to look like Him in every way possible as He helps us;
Even as we yield to His help
If there is one thing I know, it is that grace is always available.
Surely, when our eye is fixed on grace, we will go through it with greater ease.
