Giving is a key that allows you to enter the essential experience of the prosperity that Christ has made accessible to you.
Furthermore, it is a core tenet of the Christian faith since it represents the altruism and selflessness that Jesus Christ exemplified.
Numerous teachings in the Bible highlight it’ significance, which is the foundation of the biblical concept of giving.
2Cor.9.7 – “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver”
The Transformative Power Of Giving Explored
In the article below, we will explore the transformative power of Giving.
1.Giving shows your faith and your total dependence on God for your prosperity.
Heb.11.17 – By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
It takes alot of faith to give, that’s why sometimes you do not experience the transformation that your Giving brings.
To emphasize, it is a kingdom power factor, as long as you are in the kingdom, you must give.
First and foremost, things, especially things to dear to you not because they are bad.
But because most often than not they tend to take the place of God in your life.
And God can never, will never share His glory with anyone, that’s why He makes demands on these things.
So, when you give, you have to understand that it is done by faith, that’s part of what made Abel’s scarifice to be accepted.
Anything done outside of faith is questionable, Giving is done by faith and a proof of our dependence on God.
2. Giving puts the virtues and spiritual resources that you need for your prosperity into your life.
When we give, there are virtues and spiritual resources God adds to your life.
In fact, you may wonder why you would choose to give your time or resources without getting anything in return.
Surprisingly, we have to understand that Godly Giving is inside out, meaning that it does something to the giver too.
It allows givers to learn the art of sacrifice or what it means to give without expecting something in return.
Moreover, the qualities that attract wealth to a man are entirely spiritual, not physical.
Some of them include an enlarged heart like we see with King Solomon and the desire for God.
That’s why when we give, the intent of the heart is highly considered otherwise you will end up giving in the flesh.
Finally, if you want Godly virtues and spiritual resources to flow to you, then Giving is a non-essential.
3. Giving is the secret to harvest.
In Giving as a believer, you are obeying the law of sowing and reaping,
Gen.26.12 – “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him”
Therefore, continuous giving always leads to continuous harvest. It doesn’t matter how long it takes.
As long as one is Giving, harvest time will come, that’s why you shouldn’t sow sparingly.
Furthermore, the Bible teaches that Giving is not only a selfless act but also a way to honor God and serve others.
When we give, we are sowing a seed which is viable to mature with time.
ECCLESIASTES 11:6 “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper”
How To Give
Most importantly, when you want to give as a believer, you have to know how.
Sometimes believers are misdirected on giving so they engage in philanthropy thinking it has spiritual significance.
God is still the yardstick and basis of defining what kingdom Giving is.
Anything we give outside of God, as good as it might seem is really of no eternal value.
And if so be it that it lacks eternal value then it doesn’t benefit the kingdom.
Godly giving is not philanthropy, neither is philantropy godly giving.
Additionally, there are certain people we should give to;
Give To God
Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house”
The proof of our love for God is how we gave. In fact God exemplified this when He gave His only son Jesus.
There is really no love without giving.
Give to God’s Servant
1 Timothy 5:17 “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”
God has given you as a believer shepherds after His own heart, who labour tirelessly in doctrine and prayer.
Consequently, one of the ways you appreciate their investments over your life is to give to them be it your time or resources.
In fact, one of the proofs that you honour them is through your giving. There is no honour devoid of Giving.
Give Yo Your Parents
Ephesians 6:2 “Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise”
Giving must be extended to our parents both in the natural and in the spirit.
Because, when we give to them, it shows we honour them and what they represent in our lives.
Give to other ministers who have blessed you
Galatians 6:6 “Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things”
Give to those in need
Proverbs 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Conclusion
As a believer, you have to know also that there some ways you can give:
Firstly, is rhythmic, and it has to do with consistently giving your tithes, seeds, offerings and the rest.
Secondly, is sacrificial, where we sometimes decide what to give based on the Spirit’s leading.
Finally, the transformative power of giving is seen your harvest, in the addition of spiritual resources.
And in your faith and total dependence on God.
God will help us to individually experience the transformative power that giving brings. IJN
