Loyalty is of great concern to God, His Kingdom, His mission, and His purpose.
Thus, as a Christian you may only possess physical knowledge (you are aware of what the Bible teaches).
Others who have been converted put their knowledge into effect.
Because of this, it is conceivable for someone who is disloyal to occasionally appear and serve without being aware of what it is.
Strong loyalties to the wrong things will inevitably lead to disloyalty to the right thing – David Closson
Lessons On Loyalty Explored
God is the basis for our understanding of loyalty.
Without His initial, unfailing commitment to love us we wouldn’t understand how to be loyal to other people.
Therefore, this article explores some vital lessons to learn.
1. Loyalty Does Not Waver
Jas.1.6 – “Not wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed”
Loyalty does not waver, because in wavering comes divided focus.
Moreover, it is critical that as a believer you do not waver, now that does not mean things won’t shake you up.
However, the quality of loyalty is what keeps you on a path even in the face of persecution.
Moreover, this implies the existence of perhaps tumultuous elements that would persistently want to sway the balance of our allegiance in an unbalanced manner.
Even while some of these pressures may be valid, we nevertheless have a duty to stay in God’s correct way.
Finally, when these unsettling circumstances arise and you continue to stick by your position, loyalty is typically exposed.
2. Loyalty Centers More On What You Are Doing, Than What You Are Saying
It is very important to note as a believer that loyalty basically has to do with what you do and say.
What you are doing is more important than what you are saying even though what you are saying is important as well.
Jas.1.22 – But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
While vocally reiterating our commitment on occasion is vital, it is insufficient. Actions must support loyalty.
It needs to be seen in everything we do; it cannot and will not flourish on empty words.
Furthermore, the Bible states that Jesus’ earthly ministry was an expression of His devotion to the Father’s business.
“…all that Jesus began to do and to teach…” Acts 1:1.
God, after all, will not demand of us what He has not first and foremost shown to us.
3. Loyalty Is A Willing Decision
Another point to note, is that true loyalty is not by coercion but by your decision.
Evidently, if this is not built on a willing decision it wont stand the test of time or test of allegiance.
Furthermore, forced compliance is fake and will show if pressure is mounted on it.
Of course this is a sin that attracts consequences and as such must be avoided at all cost.
You must make up your mind to align yourself with God’s will as far as loyalty is concerned.
Remember, the bible clearly states that “Be not deceived, God is not mocked whatsoever a man sows that shall he reap” Gal 6:7.
This is the reason you must allow this knowledge to guide your Christian beliefs and way of life.
Finally, always remember as a believer that loyalty is a seed, at the end you reap what you sow.
4. Loyalty Is Demanding
It is worthy of note that the believer must come to terms with the fact that loyalty is demanding.
Nothing worthwhile in the kingdom comes on a platter of gold or is gotten on a bed of roses.
Moreover, if it is true be sure that it will put and make demands on you as a believer.
Furthermore, you will be called upon to do the unthinkable sometimes,
You must be careful not to be misguided by what may seem as demeaning responsibilities.
Sometimes promotion comes in the most unfashionable assignments.
5. Loyalty Involves Sacrifice
Significantly, there is no loyalty devoid of sacrifice, if it is true it will demand sacrifice.
Also, as a believer, bear it in mind that the kind of loyalty that does not require you to make regular sacrifices does not really exist.
Even If it does, it is only in the imagination, so settle the matter of sacrifice in your heart.
Luke.14.28 – For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost”
Finally, you must be willing to accompany your allegiance to the object of your loyalty with regular giving of time, money and resources.
6. God Rewards Loyalty
It is important to note that true loyalty though demanding has its rewards.
Matt.19.29 – And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Finally, in all its ways it attracts rewards. Let this motivate and encourage you.
Conclusion
Conclusively, as believers you have to understand what loyalty is, that it is demanding, does not waver and is a willing decision.
Also, loyalty in friendship is beautiful and inspiring, but the most important loyalty in anyone’s life is to Christ
We must always make sure that our loyalties are in the right order: love God, then love people.
If we do this, then the other areas of our lives will be in right order
