Brokenness; A Virtue

Brokenness has always been a word that makes shivers run down my spine

And even in songs where the lyrics of break me, mold is found

I sing it, but am like God am finished oh!!, sometimes I just feel that God is just waiting for you to say those words

And when you do, even if you say God I take it back, God must have to break you

There is nothing like I was joking, I didn’t know when I said it, just know God must get His man. 

Psalm 34:18 “The Lord Is Close to the Brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Brokenness

Brokenness most often than not is not in isolation, more like it has its specific dealings 

The intent of the dealings is to achieve brokenness

Consequently, God’s dealings always has a purpose one of which could be brokenness 

What does this entail?

Does it mean God will have to take a stone or hammer to break, maybe 🙂

But then I know it a means for God to be so close to a person;

It seems like a great relief but it’s unavailing could entail the Gethsemane experience 

Am yet to see anyone who loves it or even embrace it three sixty 

For still, there is yet a hope.

Ps.34.18 “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; 

and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”

Brokenness; A Need

Brokenness is a necessity, sometimes I just wish we could somehow bypass it

Like really I do, and I know there are other people who wish same

But then, do we wish it a big yes!!, will it happen most certainly not if we would be useful

That’s why, a remarkable characteristic that the natural man, 

down to believers who have not been broken by God is a characteristic of independence.

Naturally, man wants to be independent, away from God.

Meanwhile, it was ordained that mankind should live his life solely depending on His creator.

So, one thing God does to us when we enter the kingdom is to teach us 

and cause us to solely depend on Him as it is supposed to.

As much as we think we know, we actually really don’t know, that’s why the scripture buttress this in 

Jeremiah 10:33 “ O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: 

it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps”

For life would be useless, full of a void and an emptiness when God is absent.

Identically, this is the experience of the one without God.

Suffice to say then, that there is this thing that makes us want to harden to the ways of God.

And so, the necessity for God to release breakings that will bring brokenness.

The Process

How does this happen?

For every man God will use sufficiently; there must be a breaking.

Certainly, our God will not share His glory with any man.

As we are crying use me now, by all means get ready for breakings that brings brokenness 

There is no other way, sometimes I wish there was 

So it then means that we are as useful as much as the Porter has gotten the vessel He wants

It sounds heavy to bear right?, really who can bear this

When I look at My Father Apostle Edu, I love the measure of God he embodies

But that would never have been possible outside of brokenness

Forget it, it is indeed a narrow part even though the end result is righteousness.

Conclusion

We can’t wish brokenness away, I wish we can😭

We can’t even pray it away, it’s seeming as if when you try to pray them away the more they come

In all, God is the one who truly furnishes it in us, it can’t be feigned.

For the Lord must have His way still.

For we were created for his pleasure.

However, we are sure it is working an eternal weight of glory.

2nd Corinthians 4:17 “ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, 

is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”
